May 17

Today’s Mets lineup: May 17 vs. Marlins.

Odds are the following lineup will be a moot point anyway because of the rain. The tarp is on the field and I would be surprised if it came up anytime soon.

The Mets made a couple of moves today, bringing up Ruben Tejada and Pedro Beato while optioning Ryota Igarashi and Chin-lung Hu.

Here’s tonight’s lineup:

Jose Reyes, SS

Josh Thole, C

Carlos Beltran, RF

Jason Bay, LF

Daniel Murphy, 1B

Justin Turner, 3B

Jason Pridie, CF

Ruben Tejada, 2B

Jon Niese, LP

COMMENTS and NOTES: With David Wright and Ike Davis injured, there’s not much Terry Collins can do with the lineup and his bench. A look at the order shows three players off the bench in the starting lineup. As far as the order is concerned, there’s no surprises. Thole, because of his patience and bat control, is the logical choice to bat second, and where else but eighth would Tejada hit? … The assumption is Wright will be placed on the disabled list and Nick Evans promoted from Triple-A Buffalo. Evans can play both first and third.

May 15

Today’s Mets lineup: May 15 at Houston.

Carlos Beltran, who has been afflicted with pink eye, is back in the lineup today at Houston, batting fourth and in right field.

Here’s the lineup:

May 06

Mets’ lineup: May 6 vs. Dodgers.

Here’s tonight’s lineup against the Los Angeles Dodgers:

Jose Reyes, SS

Daniel Murphy, 2B

David Wright, 3B

Carlos Beltran, RF

Jason Bay, LF
Ike Davis, 1B

Jason Pridie, CF

Josh Thole, C

Jon Niese, LP

COMMENTS: Thole back in the lineup as promised. … Wright still batting third, and that doesn’t figure to change. … Beltran is hot and keeps on playing.

May 04

Mets’ May 4 lineup vs. San Francisco

The Mets, losers of four of their last five games, will try to right things tonight at rainy and cold Citi Field against the San Francisco Giants.

Here’s the lineup:

Jose Reyes, SS

Daniel Murphy, 2B

David Wright, 3B

Carlos Beltran, RF

Ike Davis, 1B

Ronny Paulino, C

Willie Harris, LF

Jason Pridie, CF

Chris Capuano, LP

METS NOTEBOOK: Reliever Pedro Beato, one of the bright spots this season in the Mets’ pen, was placed on the disabled list with elbow tendinitis, retroactive to May 2. Replacing him on the roster is lefty Mike O’Connor. … Bobby Parnell has begun throwing in Port St. Lucie. … Josh Thole is struggling and with Ronny Paulino playing well, the former could see his playing time reduced.
