Talkin’ Baseball: Dodgers trying to stay alive.

Dodgers trying to stay alive

Dodgers trying to stay alive

Joe Torre’s Dodgers trying to stay alive tonight in LA. Torre was roasted for his handling of the bullpen in Game 4, in particular, for not bringing in his closer early in what amounted to a do-or-die game.

Willie Randolph has surfaced the past couple of days. He says he wants to manage again. And, from what I hear, Tony Bernazard is still in it for the GM job in Seattle.

Talkin’ Baseball: Rays at Red Sox

Talkin' baseball tonight. Let me know what you're thinking.

Talkin' baseball tonight. Let me know what you're thinking.

One of the great stories of the year continues tonight at Fenway when the Rays have a chance to take a commanding 3-to-1 edge over the Red Sox. Should Tampa Bay run the table it could be as stunning an upset as the 69 Mets.

The NLCS turned sour last night. The Dodgers’ bullpen collapsed and they squandered numerous opportunities. They are down 3-to-1 and the lights could go out on their season tomorrow night.

You want to talk about the playoffs or Mets or anything else baseball, we can do that tonight.

Mets Chat Room: Talkin’ Mets and baseball.

CHAT ROOM: What's on your mind?

CHAT ROOM: What's on your mind?

Hi folks. Hope you’re enjoying the holiday. Especially if you had the day off. The Mets are quiet, but of course your imagination and passions about them are not. So, we can talk about that.

Then there are the playoffs. I hadn’t planned on blogging during the playoffs, but your response has been terrific, so I’ll continue.

Rays and Red Sox are on this afternoon, followed by Dodgers-Phillies. We have Giants and Browns tonight on MNF, so there’s a lot to talk about. If you’ve got any comments or questions, let’s have them. Looking forward to talking with you.

Loose Threads: NFL Edition.

Watching some football until first pitch.

Watching some football until first pitch.

Sunday afternoon. I’ve got ribs in the oven. I figure they’ll be done by the start of the third quarter of the first game. Fall-off-the-bone, of course.

Baseball game doesn’t start until 8:30 tonight. No other comment is necessary.

Ran all my errands and shopped this morning. Plan to watch football this afternoon. New York is absolutely the worst place to watch football because of the blackout and the Jets and Giants are always on at different times and they don’t telecast against the home NY team. Good thing the Giants are on Monday night.

We’ve got the Bengals and Jets and Cowboys and Cardinals this afternoon. Oh boy! Come to think about it, I might not watch much after all. But, if there’s something on your mind, feel free to leave a post.

Of course, I’ll see you tonight for Dodgers-Phils.
