New Chat Rooms; DH with Brewers

Game #157 and 160 vs. Brewers

To access the New Chat Room, click onto the Mets Chat. I’ll been in an out during the doubleheader. Hoping we can chat some tonight.

Jon Niese and RA Dickey go tonight, arguably the No. 2 and No. 3 starters next spring with Santana out. Both have overachieved a bit and have come back to Earth. Dickey, simply, might be the Mets’ most valuable pitcher. Who knows where they might have landed without him.

Pleased to hear, Jerry Manuel’s admission of mistakes the other day. He threw himself under the bus first and pointed a minimum of fingers. I can’t say it would be enough to save him, ever if the Mets run the table and finish over .500.

NEW CHAT ROOM; Labor Day Edition.

Game #136-138

I used to love Labor Day as a kid. It meant doubleheaders. So did Memorial Day, the Fourth of July and most Sundays.

Times change.

I hope you’re enjoying the conversation with new friends in the New Mets Chat Room. I am optimistic as it continues to grow and hope you’ll be patient with us.

The Chat Rooms will be open throughout the Holiday weekend, and as you watch the games I hope you’ll continue to post your comments. I will try to get on but don’t know how much computer access I’ll have this weekend.

To access, please click onto the Mets Chat Room icon to the left of this post. It will bring you to another page. At the bottom on the right is where you can click on to register. If you can use your same screen names that would be great. If not, do the best you can.

This is a work in progress. I am greatly optimistic about the future of this type of chat room.

Today and tomorrow, the Mets are in Chicago, and Monday play an afternoon game at Washington.

Enjoy the Holiday Weekend.-JD

Today, the Mets are in Chicago to play a team that is more inept than themselves. I know, it is hard to imagine, but true. With the Mets having dealt veterans and concede going with youth, they’ve raised the white flag on the competitive aspect of the season. From here on out it is about seeing the kids and hopefully finishing above .500.

Ah, talk of lowered expectations.

See you online.-JD

Tonight, the Mets will attempt to avoid the sweep to the Braves with Johan Santana and their anemic offense.

NEW CHAT ROOM; Pelfrey hot again.

Game #133 at Braves

Once again, welcome to the expanded Mets Chat Room. I’ve linked up with Metsmerizedonline.com to bring you to the ground floor regarding chat rooms and blogs.

In addition to being hooked up to another successful Mets blog, we will eventually be linked to other blogs from around baseball.

This is a work in progress. I am greatly optimistic about the future of this type of chat room.

Tonight, the sinking-like-a-stone Mets will send Mike Pelfrey to the mound. Pelfrey has rebounded from a seven-start winless skid, going 3-1 with a 1.20 ERA since.

Pelfrey said he’s back to pitching as he did when he opened the season at 9-1.

“I got so far away from being myself and doing what I did early in the year and being successful. I’ve gotten back to that,’’ Pelfrey said. “The next time there’s some adversity or struggles, it shouldn’t be from getting away from doing what makes me me.’’

Pelfrey’s continued improvement will be one of the things to look for in September.
