Mets’ May 5 lineup vs. San Francisco

So long ago seems that six-game winning streak. The Mets have lost five of their last six games since and will attempt to stop the slide this afternoon with this lineup behind Mike Pelfrey:

Jose Reyes, SS

Chin-lung Hu, 2B

David Wright, 3B

Carlos Beltran, RF

Jason Bay, LF

Ike Davis, 1B

Ronny Paulino, C

Scott Hairston, CF

Mike Pelfrey, RP

COMMENTS: Nothing wrong with giving Daniel Murphy the day off. Hu needs some playing time anyway. … Wright still batting third much to the chagrin of many. Terry Collins seems set on that. … Jason Bay returns to the lineup. He’s still not hitting for power. When will that happen?

Mets’ May 4 lineup vs. San Francisco

The Mets, losers of four of their last five games, will try to right things tonight at rainy and cold Citi Field against the San Francisco Giants.

Here’s the lineup:

Jose Reyes, SS

Daniel Murphy, 2B

David Wright, 3B

Carlos Beltran, RF

Ike Davis, 1B

Ronny Paulino, C

Willie Harris, LF

Jason Pridie, CF

Chris Capuano, LP

METS NOTEBOOK: Reliever Pedro Beato, one of the bright spots this season in the Mets’ pen, was placed on the disabled list with elbow tendinitis, retroactive to May 2. Replacing him on the roster is lefty Mike O’Connor. … Bobby Parnell has begun throwing in Port St. Lucie. … Josh Thole is struggling and with Ronny Paulino playing well, the former could see his playing time reduced.

Mets’ May 3 lineup vs. San Francisco.

With tonight being the first pro sports event in NY since bin Laden was killed, it figures to be an emotional night at Citi Field.

The Mets donated 4,000 tickets to servicemen for tonight’s game. Marine Corps Sgt. Elizabeth Quinones will perform “God Bless America’’ during the seventh inning stretch. The Mets also booked a color guard for the pre-game.

Here’s tonight’s lineup against San Francisco:

Jose Reyes, SS

Daniel Murphy, 2B

David Wright, 3B

Carlos Beltran, RF

Ike Davis, 1B

Lucas Duda, LF

Josh Thole, C

Jason Pridie, CF

R.A. Dickey, RP

NOTES: Jason Bay was placed on the Paternity Leave List to be with his wife, Kristen, for the birth of the couple’s third child. Replacing Bay will be Lucas Duda, who was hitting .257 (19-74) with four doubles, three home runs and nine RBI in 21 games for Triple-A Buffalo.

The Mets’ April 26 line-up at Washington

Chris Young will be activated from the disabled list to return to the rotation tonight at Washington.  Here’s the line-up that will attempt to extend the Mets’ winning streak to five games.

Jose Reyes, SS

Daniel Murphy, 2B

David Wright, 3B

Carlos Beltran, RF

Jason Bay, LF

Ike Davis, 1B

Josh Thole, C

Jason Pridie, CF

Chris Young, RP

COMMENT: The Mets are sticking with their same line-up tonight at Washington. You have to like the consistency. Daniel Murphy is affording Jose Reyes the kind of protection he needs, but I would like to see the shortstop run more than he has, especially for how well he is hitting early in the game,

Gee waiting out the rain.

The Mets have looked like a different team the past three days because they have pitched well. Actually, they’ve done better than well.

If they play today, Dillon Gee will be trying to give the Mets their third straight victory.

A strong outing by Gee could earn him another start or possibly keep Chris Young on the disabled list. Gee, 2-2 with a 2.18 ERA in five starts last year, gave up one run in 5.2 innings last Sunday in a win at Atlanta.

Here’s today’s line-up:

Jose Reyes, SS

Daniel Murphy, 2B

David Wright, 3B

Carlos Beltran, RF

Jason Bay, LF

Ike Davis, 1B

Josh Thole, C

Jason Pridie, CF

Dillon Gee, RP
