Your suggestions welcome

My name is on the blog, but it really belongs to you. In a previous post, I received a suggestion I’ll on how to make things easier to read. Thanks.

I am still learning the technical aspects of the blog, such as photos, links and blog rolls. There will be more art and audio. One of the things I was considering was a short podcast prior to Mets Chat Room. Kind of like a pre-game show.

If there is anything you’d like to see style, aesthetics and content wise please let me know. I’m learning on the fly and will try to get to everything eventually.

One other thing, Joe McDonald, who has put this together with me wants me to consider a New York Giants and Major League Baseball blogs (yes, it would include Yankee content). Your thoughts?

Thanks Ken ….

I’d like to take a moment to thank Ken Davidoff of Newsday for his kind words in giving this blog a plug. I’ve known Ken since my days on the Yankee beat and he’s one of the good and talented guys. His plug means a lot to me.

I am in the process of building a blog roll and Ken’s will be on it. In the interim, you can read him at Newsday.com.

Sept. 5.08: Mets Chat Room: Talking about your Mets.

Hi folks. For those who know me, please bear with me. For those who don’t, please understand I always wanted the concept of my blog, and the in-game Chat Room, to be like watching on TV with your friends. Plenty of give-and-take, commentary and questions.

I hope we can recapture that here.

I’m hoping you guys take over tonight and enjoy yourselves. Thanks again for all your support and looking forward to a lot of fun for the rest of the season and beyond.

By the way, I’m already looking into postseason credentials. Hope I get to use them.

Sept. 4.08: I’m back ….

Greetings all. I have missed talking with you the past two weeks. I’ve received lots of well wishes since The Journal News dumped me. They never gave me a reason, at least nothing other than the vague explanation of economics. They are still making money, but I guess their profit margin isn’t as big as they hoped.

I received several requests to keep the blog running. The blog became a passion and I developed an attachment to many of my readers and felt obligated to continue. I made commitment to you and will stick by it. I thank you for your interest and will work hard to pick up where I left off. I also want to thank Joe McDonald for getting me up and running.

I won’t have the resources I had at the paper, but I am a lifetime member of the Baseball Writers Association of America, so I still have access to the ballpark, and and a result, the players.

As I search for a new job I will keep the blog running, and hopefully I will land something in baseball and close to Mets.

I will keep upgrading the blog, but if there’s anything you’d like so see, let me know and as always I will try to deliver.

If you want to reach me off-line, my email is jdelcos@yahoo.com. I am looking forward to hearing from you, and I an anxious to talk Mets with you again.
