The Mets finally received good news on the injury front as relievers Frank Francisco and Tim Byrdak, and center fielder Andres Torres are all expected to be at Citi Field instead of the disabled list on Opening Day.
Francisco took a cortisone injection to his sore left knee Sunday, and after throwing off the mound this morning pronounced himself ready.
Byrdak underwent left knee surgery March 13 and is scheduled to pitch today against the Yankees.
Andres Torres sustained a strained left calf March 20 and was in the starting lineup today.
Relievers Pedro Beato (shoulder) and D.J. Carrasco (ankle) will be on the disabled list to start the season.
Today’s lineup, with the exception of pitcher Mike Pelfrey, is the projected starting lineup for Opening Day.
The Mets are playing two games today, but all eyes are on Port St. Lucie where Johan Santana will make the start against St. Louis.

LINEUP COMMENTS: Terry Collins is keeping Jason Bay and Ike Davis together in the batting order, as they would normally be. … In the Houston game he’s also keeping together the double-play combination of Ruben Tejada and Daniel Murphy.
Interesting lineup tonight in Atlanta with both Jose Reyes and Angel Pagan not playing because of injuries.
Tonight will be Lucas Duda’s debut as the Mets are going younger. Duda’s reputation is that he can punish the ball, and power is something this team desperately needs.
Also, Josh Thole, who has good bat control will bat second. I don’t envision this being a permanent spot in the batting order for him, but the more information the better, especially in games when Pagan might hit third.
