  1. With the exception of SS, C and tonight’s starter, you could be realistically looking at the 2010 starting lineup. And that is a very scary thought. Scary in a bad way…not a good way.

  2. JD: Doubtful on Thole. I think he is too raw behind the plate to be considered without at least a full year in AAA. I can see the Mets signing a Barajas or Zaun to platoon with Santos, who I am still not sold on in the least bit. With Santos and Murphy in the lineup the Mets sport statistically two of the worst players at those positions in baseball.

  3. 1/2/3… After these words of encouragement who could say another word…… Meanwhile, new DC GM Rizzo said the Lerner family has told him he can spend what he needs to build the Nats. Fifth place here we come…….

  4. Harry, truth is that the 2010 FA crop is not impressive at all. The top players available Holliday and Bay really aren’t worth what they”ll end up getting. Lackey is questionable too with his arm. I’m not worried about the Nats..somehow they’ll screw it up again. lol.

  5. I am with Steve O, esp if John is right that the Mets aint spending a dime.

Pagan ain’t a starter and Franceour has issues.

I see us getting a veteran catcher on the cheap and perhaps a pitcher for say 8million and calling it a day.

I see tonight’s pitcher in the rotation next year.

  6. 5. I don’t think so Steve. They are finally overcoming the crap that they inherited from their GM in Montreal. someone named Minaya, I believe! And the Red reject who followed. Rizzo seems to have something Minaya can’t comprehend, he seems to have a plan.
