Hernandez to stay in rotation

After Livan Hernandez’s third awful start, manager Jerry Manuel, with no other alternatives, said the veteran will make his next turn.

“We’re gonna stay where we are, at this period, as I speak… as of right now, we’re gonna stay in rotation,” Manuel said.

Hernandez is 2–5 with a 8.71 ERA in his last eight starts. He began the season at 5-1.

I would like to see if the Mets could get something for him in a waiver deal, but the more he pitches the more his value decreases.

  1. There a note by Joel Sherman that Livan Hernandez could set the Mets record for the worst era for a starter who qualifies for the ERA title. Currently it is Pete Smith who in 1994 had a 5.55 era. Hernandez is at 5.47
For a non strike year it is Steve Traschel in 2006 with a 4.97
