  3. dave July 25, 2009 7:20 pm

jerry has a plethora of cleanup choices tonight.

i wonder why he chose murph over santos tonight?

  4. dave July 25, 2009 7:23 pm

    all his fastballs are up

  5. John Delcos July 25, 2009 7:38 pm

  6. dave July 25, 2009 7:40 pm

  7. dave July 25, 2009 7:49 pm

do the mets have an email addr?

you know, where we can write in and tell them what we think of the bozo the clown organization?

  8. dave July 25, 2009 7:50 pm

so david almost hits a nice double with no one on

  9. Scott from Pelham July 25, 2009 7:53 pm

If you find the Mets email address please let me know.

Maybe someone can find Jeff or Fred’s phone extension and we could leave our thoughts about the team.

  10. dave July 25, 2009 7:57 pm

just realized, cora is back, no more adventure at ss

  11. dave July 25, 2009 7:59 pm

niese has a really big slow curve

  12. dave July 25, 2009 8:01 pm

    looks like niese settled down

  13. dave July 25, 2009 8:05 pm

i am surprised at how much freedom these guys have to criticize the team

  14. dave July 25, 2009 8:08 pm

just threw his bat out and got a hit

  15. Scott from Pelham July 25, 2009 8:11 pm

It one of few things the Mets do right.
They let all their announcers be critical of the team.
Not complete homers like most teams.

  16. Ray Sadecki July 25, 2009 8:21 pm

If Niese can keep it up it would give the team a big lift.

  17. Annie Savoy July 25, 2009 8:44 pm

Guess I got here just in time for Francoeur’s home run…

  18. John Delcos July 25, 2009 8:52 pm

Francoeur has half as many homers in two weeks with the Mets as Wright.-JD

  19. Annie Savoy July 25, 2009 8:52 pm

    And now, Santos -

  20. dave July 25, 2009 8:55 pm

    john(18)

    funny how that works out.

in the two weeks we have had him it looks like we got the better of the deal. but murphy looked great for a month last year too.

  21. dave July 25, 2009 8:59 pm

luis is hitting 375 this month

  22. John Delcos July 25, 2009 9:05 pm

Do they really have eight runs?-JD

  23. dave July 25, 2009 9:07 pm

    nine.

    but who’s counting?

  24. John Delcos July 25, 2009 9:08 pm

dave (23): Forgive me. I watch the Mets. I can’t count that high.-JD

  25. Jeff M. July 25, 2009 9:08 pm

Oh well — I guess you can’t lose them all!

  26. Annie Savoy July 25, 2009 9:09 pm

    Dave (7), Scott (9)
FYI – Here’s the phone number for the Mets Front Office: 718-507-METS

  27. John Delcos July 25, 2009 9:10 pm

    You’ll never get through. Don’t bother calling.-JD

  28. dave July 25, 2009 9:16 pm

    john(25)

    i know what u mean.

those numbers are usually on the other side of the ledger.

  29. John Delcos July 25, 2009 9:17 pm

Annie (26): That’s the general number. Do you honestly think if you could look it up that would be the number that will get through to Jeff or Fred? C’mon. That’s like looking up the White House number and expecting to be put through to Obama. (Who, by the way, is falling in the popularity polls).-JD

  30. John Delcos July 25, 2009 9:19 pm

Well, it looks as if Niese will get another start.-JD

  31. dave July 25, 2009 9:22 pm

i am so glad cora is back

that was a nice pickup by the gm

  32. Annie Savoy July 25, 2009 9:23 pm

    Is the Politics Light On?

  33. dave July 25, 2009 9:24 pm

i am not interested in getting to fred or jeff.

i do not expect to get to them. but if you get a steady stream of negative comments from fans about the team, perhaps it will create changes,

i would be happy to get the office of horowitz

  34. Scott from Pelham July 25, 2009 9:24 pm

Redding should talk to Niese about subletting his place.
I am sure Redding will be gone any day now.

  35. John Delcos July 25, 2009 9:30 pm

    dave (31): Outside of K-Rod, the best off-season acquisition.-JD

  36. Ray Sadecki July 25, 2009 9:30 pm

The Astros lineup is no better than the Mets. The pitching is about the same. Why is thier record so much better?

  37. John Delcos July 25, 2009 9:31 pm

    Annie (32): No. My right.-JD

  38. John Delcos July 25, 2009 9:32 pm

Ray (36): Less injuries. Weaker division.-JD

  39. Ray Sadecki July 25, 2009 9:32 pm

    21. Dave are you giving Looie his props now? His obp will be over .400 after tonight.

  40. John Delcos July 25, 2009 9:35 pm

Ray (39): If his contract weren’t so bad, the Mets could trade Castillo.-JD

  41. Ray Sadecki July 25, 2009 9:36 pm

    38. Delcos I mean this injury depleted Mets lineup. If we had our guys It wouldnt be close. Hey, One nice start by a rook and I am getting positive again. Silly, I know.

  42. John Delcos July 25, 2009 9:37 pm

Ray (41): Easy. Take it easy. It’s one game. Remember, they can’t lose them all.-JD

  43. Ray Sadecki July 25, 2009 9:39 pm

    40. There are a lot of worse contracts out there than Looies. 2 yr at six mm each. He has been the steadiest player on this team.

  44. Scott from Pelham July 25, 2009 9:39 pm

    Adam Rubin
Had a great comment the other day.

He said the disfunction has never left the Mets organization. It always seems to bubble up in bad times.

Fred & Jeff need to hire a management consultant and listen to what they would say.

Its painfully obvious the current management structure does not not work.

  45. Ray Sadecki July 25, 2009 9:42 pm

    42. Ah, let me enjoy the moment. How about Jerry keeps Murph in the cleanup spot ahile. Maybe thats where he can thrive.

  46. Annie Savoy July 25, 2009 9:42 pm

Finally David Wright joins the HR Party …

  47. Scott from Pelham July 25, 2009 9:43 pm

The best part of a Mets win on Saturday.
It makes the Sunday paper a lot easier to read.

  48. Ray Sadecki July 25, 2009 9:43 pm

See, Put murph in the four hole and Wright hits a homer. The magic is back.

  49. John Delcos July 25, 2009 9:44 pm

Feeling the heat from Francoeur, Wright responds.-JD

  50. Ray Sadecki July 25, 2009 9:46 pm

Maybe I was too quick to disparage frenchy.

  51. Annie Savoy July 25, 2009 10:03 pm

Howie has put this free swinging game “in the books” and since I could see this game on TV, I enjoyed seeing them all hit the ball out of the park.

    Maybe all is not lost…..

  52. John Delcos July 25, 2009 10:05 pm

    See? Miracles can happen.-JD

  53. Jeff M. July 25, 2009 10:06 pm

John (42): Please see my (25). Your plagiarism is showing. ;-(

  54. dave July 26, 2009 7:06 am

    john(36)

    I agree,

  55. dave July 26, 2009 7:16 am

    Ray(40)

I call it like I see it. Luis is on a tear.

However in the time I have seen him I have observered that overall his defense is nothing special. He makes the routine play and often enough makes the correct call and turns the play you want. but just as often does something stupid or sloppy.

As a hitter he seems to hit about 280, which is better than average. He has no power, does not hit doubles and does not drive anyone in for the most part. He does know how to bunt and can keep an inning alive.

That is not the 6 million dollar man. I would trade him and get a young platoon going that gives you more flexibility and lower cost.

I do not think he will play the next 2 years as he has played the past month.

  56. dave July 26, 2009 7:35 am

So the rookie stops the slide. Way to go Niese.

I would still rather have Halladay.

  57. jim bmore July 26, 2009 10:56 am

if we win today thats 2 in a row

“Ok, guys. We’ve won two games in a row. If we win tonight, its called a winning streak. IT HAS HAPPENED BEFORE.”…. keep fightin metsies
