wow.
dan the man in cleanup
as bad as murph has been at the plate, he does well with risp
jerry has a plethora of cleanup choices tonight.
i wonder why he chose murph over santos tonight?
all his fastballs are up
dave (3): Yeah, but can any of them hit? Sheffield on the DL. Surprise, surprise.-JD
no not really. one has an avg above 300 but cant hit with ppl on base
do the mets have an email addr?
you know, where we can write in and tell them what we think of the bozo the clown organization?
so david almost hits a nice double with no one on
If you find the Mets email address please let me know.
Maybe someone can find Jeff or Fred’s phone extension and we could leave our thoughts about the team.
just realized, cora is back, no more adventure at ss
niese has a really big slow curve
looks like niese settled down
i am surprised at how much freedom these guys have to criticize the team
just threw his bat out and got a hit
It one of few things the Mets do right.
They let all their announcers be critical of the team.
Not complete homers like most teams.
If Niese can keep it up it would give the team a big lift.
Guess I got here just in time for Francoeur’s home run…
Francoeur has half as many homers in two weeks with the Mets as Wright.-JD
And now, Santos -
john(18)
funny how that works out.
in the two weeks we have had him it looks like we got the better of the deal. but murphy looked great for a month last year too.
luis is hitting 375 this month
Do they really have eight runs?-JD
nine.
but who’s counting?
dave (23): Forgive me. I watch the Mets. I can’t count that high.-JD
Oh well — I guess you can’t lose them all!
Dave (7), Scott (9)
FYI – Here’s the phone number for the Mets Front Office: 718-507-METS
You’ll never get through. Don’t bother calling.-JD
john(25)
i know what u mean.
those numbers are usually on the other side of the ledger.
Annie (26): That’s the general number. Do you honestly think if you could look it up that would be the number that will get through to Jeff or Fred? C’mon. That’s like looking up the White House number and expecting to be put through to Obama. (Who, by the way, is falling in the popularity polls).-JD
Well, it looks as if Niese will get another start.-JD
i am so glad cora is back
that was a nice pickup by the gm
Is the Politics Light On?
i am not interested in getting to fred or jeff.
i do not expect to get to them. but if you get a steady stream of negative comments from fans about the team, perhaps it will create changes,
i would be happy to get the office of horowitz
Redding should talk to Niese about subletting his place.
I am sure Redding will be gone any day now.
dave (31): Outside of K-Rod, the best off-season acquisition.-JD
The Astros lineup is no better than the Mets. The pitching is about the same. Why is thier record so much better?
Annie (32): No. My right.-JD
Ray (36): Less injuries. Weaker division.-JD
21. Dave are you giving Looie his props now? His obp will be over .400 after tonight.
Ray (39): If his contract weren’t so bad, the Mets could trade Castillo.-JD
38. Delcos I mean this injury depleted Mets lineup. If we had our guys It wouldnt be close. Hey, One nice start by a rook and I am getting positive again. Silly, I know.
Ray (41): Easy. Take it easy. It’s one game. Remember, they can’t lose them all.-JD
40. There are a lot of worse contracts out there than Looies. 2 yr at six mm each. He has been the steadiest player on this team.
Adam Rubin
Had a great comment the other day.
He said the disfunction has never left the Mets organization. It always seems to bubble up in bad times.
Fred & Jeff need to hire a management consultant and listen to what they would say.
Its painfully obvious the current management structure does not not work.
42. Ah, let me enjoy the moment. How about Jerry keeps Murph in the cleanup spot ahile. Maybe thats where he can thrive.
Finally David Wright joins the HR Party …
The best part of a Mets win on Saturday.
It makes the Sunday paper a lot easier to read.
See, Put murph in the four hole and Wright hits a homer. The magic is back.
Feeling the heat from Francoeur, Wright responds.-JD
Maybe I was too quick to disparage frenchy.
Howie has put this free swinging game “in the books” and since I could see this game on TV, I enjoyed seeing them all hit the ball out of the park.
Maybe all is not lost…..
See? Miracles can happen.-JD
John (42): Please see my (25). Your plagiarism is showing. ;-(
john(36)
I agree,
Ray(40)
I call it like I see it. Luis is on a tear.
However in the time I have seen him I have observered that overall his defense is nothing special. He makes the routine play and often enough makes the correct call and turns the play you want. but just as often does something stupid or sloppy.
As a hitter he seems to hit about 280, which is better than average. He has no power, does not hit doubles and does not drive anyone in for the most part. He does know how to bunt and can keep an inning alive.
That is not the 6 million dollar man. I would trade him and get a young platoon going that gives you more flexibility and lower cost.
I do not think he will play the next 2 years as he has played the past month.
So the rookie stops the slide. Way to go Niese.
I would still rather have Halladay.
if we win today thats 2 in a row
“Ok, guys. We’ve won two games in a row. If we win tonight, its called a winning streak. IT HAS HAPPENED BEFORE.”…. keep fightin metsies
