  1. Jeter is still number 8 despite being a .280 singles hitter with poor defense? Swap his spot with Joe Maurer. He was a great player but now.time waits for no one. And have any of these guys heard of Coors field effect for Matt Holiday who is struggling at Oakland? Has Michael Young at Texas been under appreciated? Started his career at second, moved to short and now third.

One the one hand I feel great as a Mets fan to see so many greats in the Orange and blue. But on the other hand, if you had told me this in 1995 or 1975 the Mets had 6 of the top 50, I would assume we we on our way to 108 wins. Like the Reds in 1975 with Morgan, Rose, Bench, Perez, Foster and Gullett.

  2. Its hard to believe a team with so much talent is running out lineups like last nights. Looks like they are just a little top heavy. I wish they would put Murphy at first already and let him play every day.

  3. (2) @ Murphy. I think he’s so messed up as is Church because of the lies and the inconsistent use of each of them by Jerry the Horrible. Are they regulars? Are they platoon guys? Are they bench guys? Not knowing the role makes it so much harder to play the game. Are they pressing because one mistake and they sit for three days, or are they pressing because one mistake gets them i the line up the next day. I think Jerry has broken both of them. I hope Mr Horrible feels good, because with 6 of the top 50 guys in the game this team should be humming.

  4. 4. Agree 100% Chiti. Manuel needs to give these guys defined roles. I was kind enough to give Jerry my suggestions on the giving back ground thread.

  5. When was this list created?

Manny is #4 after being positive for Roids.

I guess this is body of work not this is who the player is today? If so Jeter makes sense. If not, I understand he is not the player he was.

  6. Dave (5) Not only is #4 Manny a steroid user, but #2 Arod is as well – and there may be others.

  7. Annie,

I am sure there were others.

From what I read it is said that he may have used his whole professional life.

I had meant to mention ARod but I guess I forgot.
