On second thought ….

SANTANA: You worried?

SANTANA: You worried?

I might have sipped the Kool-Aid upon hearing the news Johan Santana had a painfree bullpen session yesterday and had his MRI trip to New York canceled.

While painfree is positive news, the monster storm that ripped the Northeast had to figure into Santana’s travel plans. He wasn’t going to get out today anyway. Why have him sit around an airport for hours?

The fact is, however, if his elbow was sore enough for a MRI before the bullpen, then that’s a concern. Once the weather clears, it wouldn’t surprise me if he’s re-examined. This is a guy you don’t want to take chances with. The Mets need to be safe with him.

Let’s have a show of hands if you’re concerned about Santana or if you believe all is well.

After all the lies or “mis-diagonses” from Dr. Minaya and Dr. Jeffy, I do not believe all is well on any health issue for quite a while.

  2. I havent believed anything about the Met’s health since i was proved right about Delgado playing hurt. Only after season was over did he admit it.
It’s painfully obvious that for whatever reason teh franchise doesnt want to sit out injured players. which is fricken stupid!

  3. from the Mets’ PR distribution to God’s ear.

and i think steve is right. there is no doctor in the whole state of florida capable of running an mri ( not that the docs do it anyway ) and send the pics to one of the Mets’ physicians.

  4. I am so sick of Omar & Jeff’s medical opinions. Get the freakin’ MRI done in PSL already…..

  5. They do have a habit of downplaying injuries. I guess we have to keep our fingers crossed.

  6. Like Chiti said, the Mets hardly have the history of coming clean with injuries in the past. I have no reason to trust them.

  7. Have the exam done. There is no reason to not do so.

Then have Altchek (not a resident or another doctor in his practice) review it.

I fear a repeat of what happened with Wagner last year, when he basically tore the tendon in his last throwing session.

Careful Harry, someone might consider “lies” libelous.

  9. (11) Harry Chiti can be found at the beautiful Rollings Hill Cemetary in Winter Haven FL. Just teasing you Ed…..
