John Maine underwent successful arthroscopic shoulder surgery today at New York’s Hospital for Special Surgery. Mets Medical Director Dr. David Altchek and Mets Team Physician Struan Coleman removed a lesion from the back of his shoulder socket.
The Mets said Maine will begin throwing again in December.

When was the last time a player had surgery and the press release said it was a failure?
Dan: I suppose if you wake up from surgery that makes it a success.-JD
Surgery is serious business. Everything is routine until it isnt.
Hey JD, I had no idea about what happened until I went over to the LoHud site and noticed you weren’t doing the write ups. After a quick Google search to see what you were up to, here I am.
Site looks good and I will definitely make it one of my stops.
It’s obviously been a while since I’ve had a chance to get online and talk some Mets. It’s imperative that Maine gets his shoulder cleaned up and rehabbed because this rotation sure did miss him in September.
