Earlier today ….

We’ve had some good comments on several earlier posts. Are the Mets taking too big a risk? Omar Minaya’s contract extension. Moments you would have liked to have seen at Shea. And, Jerry Manuel commenting on just getting in.

If you haven’t already, please check out these posts and provide your input.

Thanks.-JD

  1. I don’t have a problem with the extension for Omar he has made this team mean something again. I like the fact that they are pushing the SP hard they have no other choice. The bullpen stinks not much you can do about it now but play the hand that you have. If Maine can pitch and make a difference then he needs to be on the mound if he isn’t going to hurt it anymore why not give it a shot.

  2. You know we keep hearing that maine Can’t hurt it anymore its all about how much pain he can tolerate. The big problem I have with that is sometimes pitchers overcompensate for pain by changing up there motion or doing something different. Granted the coaches and manager should jump on that right away. However, all it takes is one pitch with a funky arm angle to alleviate pain that injures something else and more seriously. Just a thought…

  3. A very valid point but as a fan the team and the medical staff should be able to monitor it. Plus if the outings are short and he can limit his pitches they should be able to keep an eye on it. He the last man that has not been used you need to see what you got.

  4. You can take the dog out of the fight, but you can’t take the fight out of the dog. LETS GO MAINE AND LETS GO METS!
